THE MASTER CLEANSE

Long story short "the master cleanse" is a liquid fast where you drink a lemon water concoction all day, take a laxative at night and drink warm salt water in the am. The goal is to get a deeper colon cleanse than you would with normal eating and bowel movements.  By only drinking liquids and forcing a bowel movement with a laxative and the "saltwater flush" you are cleaning your system deeper than usual. Normally we have built up crap (literally) in our bodies, then we eat more crap, poop out some of what we eat, and leave extra crap behind that builds up over time. So you may see how by not putting more crap (solid food) on top of the original crap, you get a deeper clean with this liquid fast. It is recommended that you do this 10-40 days to get the best results.  A lot of people warn not to do this for the sole purpose of loosing weight. You will likely loose some weight in the process but may gain it back once you go back to eating solids. So this isn't a quick fix to loosing weight. It is still necessary to change you diet to cleaner eating and regular exercise after the cleanse in order to maintain a healthy weight. I know a lot of us want a quick fix but the reality is there isn't one. You get out what you put in and you have to decide that your health...or looking good..... is more important than that cheesecake, Dr pepper , or whatever your vice may be...those just happen to be some of mine lol. The master cleanse is based on a book called "The Master Cleanser" by Stanley Burroughs. Another great source for a more professional explanation of the cleanse is themastercleanse.org. do you research and then decide if this is something you feel your body needs. Let me know if you give it a go! I would love to hear about your experience. (Photos are from pinterest, original sources unknown)

Curly hair swagg

Here is a look I rocked a few weeks ago. I was feeling funky and tried some different accessories and hair scarf. What do you think??

OOTD: 08.22.12

One of my favorite styles to rock during the hot humid summer months is the maxi dress. Its my quick, easy go to. Get one in a great bright print and you don't even need accessories to look complete. Shopping tip: purchase jersey knit. The stretchy fabric will fit even if you gain or lose a few pounds, and the color will last for lever. Plus, you don't have to iron it!
