CURLY HAIRDO

SO I TRIED A FRONT-BRAID PONYTAIL THE OTHER DAY....

...SO THE BRAID COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE MORE ON POINT, BUT ITS KINDA AWKWARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE TRYING TO FRENCH BRAID YOUR OWN HAIR. OVERALL I THOUGHT THEY STYLE WAS CUTE AND BETTER THAN A TYPICAL PONY ;)

OOTD: THANKSGIVING DAY 2011

I am SO thankful! Not just on Thanksgiving Day, but everyday, for what the Lord has given me! These past few years have been such a joy, finding myself and learning to love myself! Not only that, I have been so blessed to have awesome, loving and supporting people around me. My marriage to my husband has increased the number of people that love and support us and I am grateful for them! I am blessed to sleep in peace, with a feeling that I am well protected, not only by my husband in the flesh, but God in the spirit. I am blessed to wake up each morning and open my eyes and SEE, to STEP out of my bed on my two functioning legs, to kiss my kids and husband as we part our separate ways to engage in our daily activities with the peace of mind that God will protect us while we are a part from each other. I am blessed to have food in my home when I come home to prepare dinner for my family each night. There are so many blessings and small things that we take for granted and we need to remember to be thankful for each and every blessing that we have because everyone may not be as fortunate. We need to raise our kids to be grateful for the things that they have and to be giving to one another. Not just during the holiday season, but we should have a giving heart year round! Let thanksgiving not be a day of thanks, but a reminder to be thankful for all that we have EVERYDAY!

Here are a few pics of my son's last minute Indian costume that my husband and I created for him. I totally forgot that he was supposed to dress up for their "feast" at school the next day, so right before bed my husband and I had to be creative. Funny thing is, when I went to visit his school, all of the parents and kids were asking about his costume. He ended up having one of the best looks, lol...

I wish that I had taken pictures of the detail on the arrows my husband made. He also made the sack for him to carry his arrows on his back and head band. I cut the feathers and fringed the clothes ;)

LET'S GO SHOPPING: JCPENNEY/KOHLS/ITS FASHION/TARGET

SO I REALIZED THE OTHER DAY THAT I HAVE BEEN NEGLECTING OPPORTUNITIES TO DO MY FAVORITE TYPES OF POSTS BC I HAD NOT BEEN TAKING PICS ON MY MANY SHOPPING TRIPS..NOTE TO SELF:DO BETTER...BUT FOR NOW I WILL SHARE WHAT I HAVE.

So my first stop was It's Fashion. IDK if you have this store in your area, but it is a cheap trendy store that's good for picking up something that is, well, cheap and trendy..a good way to update your wardrobe without breaking the bank. So I was looking for something sexy in case my and my hubby went out after thanksgiving dinner and I thought this was unexpectedly sexy. Kind of a sexy secretary look...

...Only problem, my baby fat was not ready for that...

...so on to the next...I really liked this sweater dress, again very form fitting and if you notice I have my hand strategically place..hehe..sneaky right...since I was pressed for time and didn't want to end up optionless, I went ahead and purchased this in a size larger (only $17.99!), I have some "slender solutions" I could slip on if necessary to make this work (btw, we ended up hanging at home with fam so I have another month to get this body ready bc I am saving this option for Christmas;))...

..I stopped by Target earlier in the week on my lunch break and picked up these inexpensive, simple black flats to wear to work on casual friday with my black skinny jeans. They were only $14! Only thing is, they are the type that has the "elastic" heel and after a while they can rub a little. Other than that, they were a great buy at a great price...

...I also went to JCPenny when they were having their $10 off $25 sale and picked up some over the knee black boots, which I will feature in an upcoming outfit of the day. Remember I said that I have been slacking and I didn't think to take pics of them. Anyhow, I always try to browse through the men's section when I shop to see if there are any swagg-enhancers that I think my husband will like. I found these, they are like a cross between a sneaker and boat shoe. They should look quite sexy on him :-)...

...he approved...

...then I went to Sam's Club to get a roast for Thanksgiving and I saw some really beautiful bedding sets. We recently got new bedroom furniture and although we have a nice comforter set, it wouldn't hurt to have another right? These were the two that I really liked...

...and lastly, I found these on clearance at Kohls for $10-$15. Not bad right?

So there's a VERY scaled back summary of the shopping I did this past week. I am going to make a conscious effort to take a LOT more pics when I'm out shopping and do a weekly post like this. These are fun and I'm so busy that I don't get to blog as much as I like, but this type of post I can handle. Talk to you girls soon!

MY NEW HAIR COLOR

SO I BLOGGED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO ABOUT NEEDING MY HAIR RECOLORED...DESPERATELY...AND I JUST WANTED TO DO A POST ON THE NEW LOOK. IT CAME OUT DIFFERENT FROM WHAT I WAS ACTUALLY ENVISIONING, I THINK DO TO THE PREVIOUS COLORS USED, BUT I ACTUALLY KINDA LIKE IT AND THINK THAT IT LOOKS GOOD FOR THE FALL/WINTER SEASON.
